Silver City was settled in 1876 by the Gorman brothers who came to the Black Hills from Canada in search of precious metals. As you travel the byway, watch for the Gorman Cabin, and the historic schoolhouse, both restored pieces of history. Rapid Creek feeds Pactola Lake near here, both worth a visit.
