Probably one of the most remote set of back roads in the Black Hills are the Antelope Springs area. You might visit the Beaver Creek National Forest Campground where most of the vehicles staying there will have Wyoming plates. Or you might visit the Redbank National Forest Campground.
If you like seeing water when you drive, watch for the Redbank Springs Reservoir and the Rudenvrale Spring. Beaver creek is a special destination and Yak Lake is one of those small mountain lake that just makes a visit more enjoyable.
The Redbank Springs campground is probably the Black Hills National Forest’s most remote national forest campground.
If you are driving trails 3531/3534 you will actually be visiting Wyoming, because the trails dip into Wyoming for a short period of time.
